RE: BEWARE of Countrywide and their Home Loans Department

I was financed with them when I closed on the house in 1990. We refinanced
with them in 2002 when the interest rates were down to 6%. They had over
ten years of history on my loan account, on their own computer, that showed
the actual amounts paid out for taxes and insurance on the property. What
they did instead was use some list of unsupported made up numbers that were
about half of what the actual charges would be. Guess what happen after a
year?

When they "discovered" the shortage they told me they would do me a favor by
covering the extra cost but they would also adjust my account to cover the
increase plus there would be a financial cushion in case this happen again.
The government allows them to collect and keep (and use as they please)
three months of your scheduled escrow payments in a non-interest bearing
account.

First I was pissed at them for using fraudulent numbers for figuring my
escrow account. Then I was pissed at them wanting more money on top of what
was due just in case "I" screwed up again? No way Jose. I took over complete
control of the escrow account.

The dildo heads who work there would never tell where I could get home
owners insurance on a house this size in Houston for half of what I pay Sate
Farm.

Again, beware of Countrywide and their loan processing department. It hard
to find good people these days.

Dear Mr.Williamson,
As a real estate agent, this is not the first time I have heard
complaints about Countrywide. The rates are usually some of the best
out there as well as the fact if you refi or take out a new home loan
there are no junk fees. HOWEVER, some of the people who work there
are morons. On the shortsale/forbearance/foreclosure end they are
abosolutely mindless and unorganized. Get this ,I have a client who
hasn't paid her mortgage in 2 years........and they have not caught on
yet........How can something like that slip through the cracks.
