I'm in a large south florida condo with an Association with many
disgruntled owners. Our board regularly using the attorney to justify
unpopular decisions, with questionable rationale. Althought they
haven't done anything terrible (yet), many of us are concerned they
will. They are certainly stretching their authority to a point the
many if not most unit owners are not happy with.
We are considering organizing, much like a union, to show solidarity
as well as to security our own attorney on retainer to make sure that
our rights are protected and that we are not denied access to
information that we're entitled to review under law. Are there any
caveats in doing this that we many not have considered? We feel its
important to be organized in case we need to take actions such as
removal of board members.
Thanks,
Barney
